Description=mIRC is a configurable IRC client that has an intuitive user interface, an events handler, and full send-and-receive capabilities for DCC (direct client connection) files (see screenshot). It also has color text, aliases, remote commands, a Backgrounds option, and sound. mIRC can automatically open Web sites as they are mentioned in a conversation, ignore DCC Sends that match specified filenames or types, and lock the program to disable various features. Version 5.9 features a new-and-improved Address Book; a smart Keep Channels Open option; built-in CTCP flood protection for CTCP version, ping, finger, and time; transparency support for desktop windows in Windows 2000; and a host of other improvements over previous versions.
